Delete your data
How to delete what our server keeps about your phone when you play PAPER GENERALS online. It is free, and you do not have to say why.
What there is to delete
If you only ever played against the computer, we hold nothing — everything is on your phone, and deleting the game deletes it.
If you played online, our server keeps a scrambled code for your phone, the game's random logins, your free-match count, a time-zone offset, three times, a small play record, and — if you bought the full game or played on an iPhone — a scrambled mark of the purchase and the iPhone's key. The full list is in the privacy policy. There is no name or email in it.
In the game
- Open SETTINGS, then the online-data page.
- Tap REQUEST DELETION and confirm.
- The page shows the date — 30 days after you ask. A daily job does it, so it is done by the day after that date at the latest.
By email, if you no longer have the game
- You need the 10-letter code from the online-data page in SETTINGS. If you have uninstalled, reinstall, open SETTINGS and tap LOOK UP — on Android the code is the same as before.
- Email the code to contact@secondexitinteractive.com.
- We file it the same way as the button, due 30 days on, and reply to tell you.
Without the code we cannot find your record: we do not know your name or your email address.
What is deleted, and what is kept
Deleted: your phone's record, every login tied to it (including ones from before a reinstall), and their play records.
Kept: one log line with the code, the dates (asked, due, done) and how many records were removed. Nothing in it identifies you. The note that it was done is kept 12 months and the log line 24 months. For a day or two the server also keeps a technical list of the scrambled keys it just deleted. Backups roll over in about 30 days.
On your phone: the game's own files stay until you delete the game or clear its data. On an iPhone, the game erases its saved ID from the Keychain once the deletion is done — it checks the next time you open the online-data page or go online.
Your purchase is not deleted. It lives with your store account.
Changed your mind? Email us the code before the date and we will cancel the request.
Why 30 days and not at once: the wait stops deletion being used to get a fresh set of free matches.
If you do nothing
Online records are deleted automatically after 12 months in which you start no online match.
